Our Approach

North County Classical is a collaborative educational academy in North County San Diego that uses a classical method rooted in the Christian worldview. We nurture students’ appreciation of truth, goodness, and beauty as they strive for excellence, while guiding them to live purposefully in the service of God and others.

Launching Fall 2022, NCC provides a rigorous, college-preparatory, biblically-sound education to kindergarten-6th grade students, with plans to add an additional grade level each year. Board members, staff, and families come from a variety of churches and denominations and agree on our Statement of Faith.

North County Classical is distinctive in a number of areas, including the following:

  • Comprehensive and integrated liberal arts curriculum – no need to cobble together a school year from numerous sources and vendors or navigate endless curriculum choices

  • A Christ-centered worldview that permeates every subject

  • A collaborative model, alternating on-campus school days with at-home days

  • A community of families aiming at the same goals and values as yours

  • A more flexible family schedule, including flex Fridays – allowing for longer weekends, travel, more time for sports, lessons, activities, etc.

  • Less nightly homework

  • Experienced, Christian teachers

  • Small class sizes

  • A thorough Christian education that is far more cost-effective

  • The ability to play a significant role in your child’s education without having to do it all yourself!

Our Mascot

The NCC mascot is the hawk! As regular, year-round residents in San Diego, hawks are the most skilled fliers in the area, threading through obstacles and diving courageously in pursuit of that which brings life. Perhaps you’ve seen a Cooper’s hawk flying high over your home – their thick, alternating bands inspired the NCC colors.
